Kairon’s journey at Beacon House began in 2005 after his grandmother noticed he was struggling with his schoolwork. She enrolled him in our programs and from there he became a regular participant of our education programs all the way through to our teen program before graduating high school. Kairon was also an active participant in many of our partnership programs such as College Bound, Reach Inc., and Shout Mouse Press. Through his participation with Reach and Shout Mouse, he became a published author when he co-authored the children’s book “Carla and the Jazzed Up Scorch Torch Fantastic Sneakers.” After high school, Kairon went on to study at Morgan State University in Baltimore, where he still attends today.
