For more than 20 years, Beacon House has hosted a Summer Camp in Edgewood to address the strong demand from the community for a low-cost, high-quality summer camp option. Our 5-week camp serves up to 90 youth, ages 7-13, with an emphasis on children living in Edgewood Commons. Summer Camp at Beacon House is an extension of our school-year programs and is designed to keep children in Edgewood Commons from falling behind academically over the summer. According to the National Summer Learning Association, “Every summer, low-income youth lose two to three months in reading while their higher-income peers make slight gains.”
