Joanne Elgart Jennings is a seasoned producer, editor and media executive and hopes to enrich our stories with her skill set. Joanne says, “I am a strong believer in Beacon House’s mission of investing in youth starting in early childhood and continuing until they are young adults. The combination of academics, athletics and the arts — plus a group of adults who genuinely care — is impressive.” Joanne’s connection to Beacon House stems from her lifelong friendship with Tarriq Childs, a Beacon House alum who was tragically murdered in December 2019. Joanne was moved by the support that Tarriq found at Beacon House. “I would like to honor his memory by giving back to a community that served as a beacon for him until he was killed.” Joanne has over 25 years of experience in media and audio & video production and earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations from American University. In addition to supporting Beacon House, she volunteers and mentor and tutor and with a local food bank.
