Devin is a true Washingtonian.  She was born, raised, and still resides in the District.  She began her teaching career in 2017 as a paraprofessional for a middle school special education department.  When Devin learned that Beacon House had an opening for a Youth Development Mentor, she knew she had to be a part of the team.  Devin truly has a passion for teaching, and making a positive impact in each of her students’ lives.  Devin believes that each child needs love, guidance, reassurance, and structure to make their dreams come true. “Each one of my students is like my own child.  I have to give them all of me so they will always know someone is rooting for their success.” When Devin isn’t helping with lesson plans and tutoring students, she enjoys her part-time work as a stylist and being a mom and wife.  She also enjoys traveling, cooking, and shopping in her spare time.  She looks forward to making her impact here at Beacon House.
