Shiree started her career in nonprofit fundraising in 1991. She previously held consulting senior development positions with Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia, Easter Seals DC MD VA, National Jewish Health and the Police Athletic League. The breadth of her experience includes strategic planning; development fund planning; major gifts; annual giving; foundation and corporate grants; corporate sponsorship; special events; Board recruitment and training; and development operations and systems. Shiree has led dozens of workshops and education sessions including as a presenter at the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) International Conference; AFP Chapters in DC, NJ, San Antonio, and Delaware; Maryland Nonprofits, Johns Hopkins and many others. Shiree currently serves on the Board of Montgomery Community Media and on a fundraising committee for the East Coast Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen Inc.; and previously served on the Boards of Capital Hill Group Ministry and the Association of Fundraising Professionals, DC Chapter. Shiree is an adjunct professor with The Fund Raising School within The Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University and a Standards for Excellence© Licensed trainer. In addition to an MBA, she holds a Masters in Nonprofit Management and is a Certified Meeting Planner. Shiree joined Beacon House as our first-ever full-time Director of Development in December 2017.
